Brian is a senior executive who provides leadership across the spectrum of Governance, Marketing and Business Development, Finance and Accounting, Services and Solutions Delivery, Administration, Cyber Security and Information Management. Mr. Mr. Deeks is a Chartered Accountant who has worked in the professional services sector for over 30 years.
He assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer for SEB’s combined Ottawa operations (Maplesoft and SOMOS) shortly after the completion of the acquisition of Maplesoft; he is also SEB’s Senior Vice-President, Government Relations and SEB Admin’s EVP Sales Support.
His early career was spent in public accounting, working for one of the Big 5 Accounting firms in the Calgary, New York, Milan and Ottawa. Brian then worked for over 25 years in the professional services sector with a focus on the Government of Canada. He gained unique insights into the Defence and Security sector leading a company that supported Army, Navy, Air Force and Joint environments of the Canadian Forces as well as NATO, Canada’s Intelligence and Security community and the Space sector.
He has led Maplesoft’s recent entry into the Defence and Space sectors and plays a leadership role in working with other elements of SEB’s operations, leveraging the capabilities and track record of SEB’s other established operations capabilities and track record of SEB’s other established operations in Hosting, Systems and Software Integration, Analytics and Dynamics CRM to the benefit of Maplesoft’s clients in the NCR.
As EVP Sales for SEB Admin, Brian has expanded his activities into the benefits, health and insurance sectors as this operation establishes itself as the Canadian leader in benefits administration and adjudication.

Mr. Deeks has an excellent appreciation for the machinery of government with a primary focus on the IT, Defence, Security, Space and Transportation sectors.
