Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join one of our clients located in Ottawa for a permanent role.
 
Reporting to the CEO and COO of the company, this position is responsible for the financial day to day operations reporting of the Company including Internal and External reporting, Treasury, Financial Systems, General Accounting, Payroll and ERP.
Duties:
• Provide leadership and guidance to the financial and accounting staff in line with Business objectives.
• Ensure the integrity and reliability of the financial information provided to internal and external customers, owners, and authorities.
• Review and analyze aged A/R and A/P sub-ledgers and identify any potential issues.
• All outgoing payments in accordance with Company policy.
• Daily accounting processes, bringing monthly close to trial balance, and year-end close.
• Prepare and enter data into QBO accounting system, including; Accounts Payable, Job Costing, Accounts receivable invoices, payroll and records, etc.
• Bi-weekly payroll entries.
• Accounts Payable processing.
• Government remittance calculations and timely remittances of HST, WSIB, Corporate tax, Benefits.
• Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures
• Monthly reporting requirements.
• Month-end processing.
• As assigned by the CEO and COO, perform other duties including assisting Senior Management with special projects.
• Oversee month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Update and maintain the Master Accounting Manual.
• Present to CEO of issues and concerns alternatives and recommendations.
• Plan and manage the annual audit and quarterly review processes to ensure timely availability of financial information.
• Ensure that the Company’s cash resources are managed effectively.
Skills:
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines.
• Extensive accounting and financial knowledge.
• Ability to handle and prioritize many work assignments at once.
• Excellent computer and communications skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work well and influence all levels of the organization
• Ability to see and understand the “big picture” while providing and implementing tactical elements required to achieve the business goals.
Requirements:
• University degree in Business/ Accounting with CPA designation preferred, but extensive experience and proven track of record will also be considered.
• Minimum 7-year experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Ceridian payroll systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools
• QuickBooks with a very high proficiency level
• Excel and MS Office with a high proficiency level
