Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Network Engineering Support Specialist to join one of our clients located in Ottawa

The Network Engineering team provides design and life cycle management of the operational and development networks. This includes project management, network design and management activities, support of various capital projects, implementation of identified cyber security enhancements, and ongoing life cycle support for the operational and development networks. 

The Contractor Role, under the direction of the Project Authority, is responsible for the architecture engineering design and integration of network solution.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

Network Design: Architecting a solution based on Business needs.
- Working with internal Stakeholders, gather Business requirements.
- Review & specify technical requirements for new or existing MPLS services.
- Represent as a Technology Lead as part of the Project Team.

Network Deployment: Participating in the build of the services.
- Specify technical requirements for new MPLS services as part of the implementation of the MPLS network.
- As part of the Project Team, coordinate any MPLS service modifications, installations and cutovers with stakeholders and telecommunication companies.
- Verify compliance of the new services based on requirement.
- Produce and maintain up to date documentation regarding deployment of the MPLS. services, installation status, circuit inventory, network diagrams, etc.

Deliverables, Engagement & Participation
- Follow Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in team meetings as required.
- Provide monthly status reports detailing work accomplished, work in progress, work planned for next period, and any problems / issues encountered.

Qualifications:
Design of MPLS services.
- Extensive knowledge of IP WAN network design
- Knowledge of routing protocols, both IPv4 and IPv6 including EIRGP, RIP, OSPF
- Knowledge of Layer 2 Protocols including STP
- Knowledge of IP Class of Service (CoS) and Quality of Service (QoS) and
- Knowledge of Multicast

Implementation & deployment of MPLS services
- Knowledge of Network design requirements for new or existing MPLS services
- Knowledge of installation processes in the Canadian telecommunications market
- Experience in producing network design documentation, project & implementation schedules and network / site diagrams.

The following would be considered assets:
- Previous experience as Telecom Network Engineer (or equivalent)
- Certifications for major manufacturers (ex: CCDP, CCIE, CCNA, CCDA, ACMA) Familiarity with corporate policies and processes and/or working in ISO 9001 certified environment.
