Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a SharePoint Progammer/Analyst to join one of our clients located in Ottawa

The ideal resource will be working in a SCRUM environment, working hand-in-hand with various SCRUM teams and with product owner representatives of the Business community. The resource will be expected to analyze business requirements, develop, test, and do database work. The technology platform includes but is not limited to MS SharePoint 2010/2013/2016, VB.NET/C# 4.0/4.5 frameworks, Visual Studio 2013/2015/2017, MS-SQL 2008 and higher, SSRS, and Dev Express for Windows forms.

The resource will be expected to develop SharePoint solutions and integrate third party components if necessary. The resources will be expected to communicate with the team daily during the standups and in paired programming situations. The resources will communicate with the product owners (clients) frequently (almost daily) in order to develop a better understanding of the needs of the client community. Resources will participate in sprint planning, sprint review, sprint retrospectives as well as in backlog refinement meetings and technical spikes. Communication skills at the intermediate to advanced level are critical for the success of the team.

The resources will be expected to estimate level of effort in the form of story points for user stories on the SCRUM board. He/she will be working off the SCRUM board and will be working with their respective teams to address tasks and define new or update tasks for user stories presented by the product owners.

Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

• Support the SCRUM Team and take on all tasks on the SCRUM board;
• Mentor other members of the team;
• Paired programming;
• Develop SharePoint solutions using VB.Net and/or C#;
• Develop scripts using PowerShell;
• Provide estimates for story points;
• Develop unit tests;
• Develop components using T-SQL;
• Perform code reviews;
• Create and update technical documentation for further references;
• Assess and address technical debt and user stories as required;
• Implement user stories and corrections to technical debt as per client priorities;
• Document issues, alternatives, risks, and strategies;
• Prepare weekly status reports and participate in all SCRUM meetings;
• Ensure that tasks, work-packages and other deliverables are completed in accordance to the overall quality assurance and quality control standards;
• Use TFS SCRUM boards to track tasks;
• Prepare and give presentations of technical documentation strategies for management level;
• Expect to communicate daily to provide progress/status on the work perform to the team members.
