    Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an IT Security TRA and C&A Analyst to join one of our Federal Government clients located in National Capital Region.


    The following responsibilities are associated with the “Statement of Work” but are not
    limited to:


    IT Security TRA Certification and Accreditation (C&A) Analysts will be performing various tasks related to the formal Authorization of CFIA information systems. The required tasks will be identified in each Task Authorization (TA) and may include, but are not limited to the following related tasks:

     

    Gather relevant information through:

    • Document review; Research of Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) security policy suite, client security policy suite and industry best practices; Interviews and workshops of SA&A stakeholders; and Confirmatory site visits;

    • Review the requirements of this SoW (and/or TA specific form) with the technical authority and determine the relevant inputs into the SA&A Plan for the IT system under evaluation;

    • Conduct a mission analysis to determine which CFIA services are to be supported by the IT system under evaluation;

    • Determine the appropriate listing of IT security controls based on Annex 3 of ITSG-33 “IT Security Risk Management: A Lifecycle Approach”;

    • Conduct or revise a threat risk assessment (TRA) according to the Harmonized Threat Risk Assessment (HTRA) methodology and a template provided by the Technical Authority, including: executive summary, asset valuation, system description and basic architecture, concept of operations (CONOPS), threat assessment, vulnerability assessment, assessment of existing safeguards, risk assessment, prioritized recommendations to meet target residual risk and risk calculation tables;

    • Advise on the requirement to conduct a Technical Vulnerability Assessment (TVA) and/or Penetration Test (PenTest) in support of the security assessment ;

    • Determine maximum allowable downtime, recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives for the IT systems under evaluation;

    • Collate the relevant information in order to draft an IT Security Assessment and Authorization Report;

    • Provide ongoing SA&A advice and support to the project management office staffs; and maintain continual liaison and information-sharing with CFIA ITSC staffs, providing them with expert information system security (technical and non-technical) advice as requested and receiving the same from them.
