Scott has over 25 years of progressive experience and executive management in the field of Information Technology systems integration, application development/maintenance and infrastructure operations. Mr. Spencer is an effective and customer-focused strategic thinker specializing in large complex projects. Notably skilled in identifying client requirements, building business propositions, proposing effective solutions, managing customer and he is adept at supplier relationships and coordinating multi-partner alliances at all stages of delivery. An experienced leader of high-performance teams with extensive experience in business operations management, cost and schedule control, and providing personnel, financial and contractual management.
A graduate of the University of Ottawa, Scott began his career in the Ottawa high-tech market with General Dynamics. Scott then joined the Ottawa office of CGI where he advanced his career from a project management consultant to becoming a Vice President responsible for over $90M in annual revenue and leading a team of 500 professionals across a broad spectrum of projects. After leaving CGI, Scott joined IBM Canada where he developed and negotiated one-of-a-kind complex strategic outsourcing business relationships and leading multi-disciplinary teams to win over $800M total contract value, including the largest new logo win for IBM Canada in 8 years.
Joining the Maplesoft team in January 2013 Scott has focused on creating and maintaining momentum across the sales, internal operations and delivery teams as Maplesoft looks towards establishing a leadership position in the professional services and systems integration field. He has led major delivery projects for Maplesoft that has established the company as a leader in the field of portal solutions geared to public sector clients. With his excellent partner and customer relationships, as well as his knowledge of the Federal Government and Canadian IT market, Mr. Spencer applies his leadership capabilities within Maplesoft and continues to contribute his efforts towards building a strong platform on which to increase long-term growth and creating stronger value-propositions to our clients.
