Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Hybrid Data Architect for our client. This is a hybrid role in Niagara Falls, ON.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Overview
This role will be pivotal in leading a strategic, high-priority hospital initiative focused on developing and delivering MIS reports and case costing data extracts. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in designing and implementing all project data-related needs and will bring a holistic understanding of IT within a healthcare environment, including data architecture, transformation strategies, data warehousing, BI, and analytics.
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Intelligence, the Data Architect will apply strong project management capabilities, technical expertise, and interpersonal skills to successfully plan and execute all phases of the project using established methodologies and best practices.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize database models for storing and retrieving electronic medical record and administrative data.
- Lead data modeling, transformation, design, and documentation activities.
- Develop reports using SQL, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and related tools.
- Oversee data warehouse development, including architecture maintenance, ETL updates, data mapping design, and data integration/aggregation across sources.
- Collaborate closely with programming teams to automate reporting using SQL, SAS, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, Business Objects, or other HIS reporting tools.
- Perform detailed analysis and profiling of system data elements (tables/fields), execute data migrations, and design data models using SQL, Oracle, Python, R, or similar languages.
- Design and implement database solutions to store and retrieve organizational data.
- Analyze structural requirements for new Oracle Health software and associated applications; design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts.
- Optimize database systems through testing, troubleshooting, and integration of new features.
- Conduct regular tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
- Contribute to the development of archival and migration strategies for legacy application data.
- Support implementation and execution of data migration and archival plans.
- Identify gaps and propose solutions for migration and archival during solution design phases.
- Define, document, and communicate data integration and transfer processes.
- Support design and implementation of archived data visualization and reporting to meet business and retention policy requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with the MS BI Stack (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SSMS).
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA).
- Proven experience managing data warehouse and BI environments.
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
- Strong understanding of database design, documentation, and coding.
- Expertise in ETL, data design, data modeling, data consolidation, and data cubes.
- Strong knowledge of data security principles.
- Ability to work with MS SQL, Oracle, and NoSQL environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Project management experience is an asset.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative.

- Regular and consistent attendance required.

Education & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree or Community College diploma in computer technology or a related field.
- Strong understanding of database structure principles.
- Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.
- Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Expertise in SQL and Oracle.
- Experience producing conceptual and logical architecture diagrams.
