    Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Remote Senior Data Migration Specialist – Information Governance & SharePoint Modernization for our client.
    ________________________________________

    Position Summary:
    Our client is seeking a Senior Data Migration Specialist with valid secret clearance to support an enterprise content migration initiative involving the transition of legacy eDocs / EDRMS repositories into Microsoft SharePoint Online (SPO).

    This role will focus on migration planning, information governance alignment, and content architecture, ensuring that legacy repositories are migrated into SharePoint Online in a structured, compliant, and well-governed manner.

    The successful candidate will work closely with the client's delivery team and client stakeholders to assess existing content environments, define migration strategies, establish metadata and governance frameworks, and guide the migration process from planning through validation.

    This role is suited to a senior migration and information management specialist who can bridge technical migration delivery with governance, taxonomy, and stakeholder coordination.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assess legacy eDocs / EDRMS repositories, including content structures, metadata, permissions, and governance models
    • Perform content inventory analysis and migration readiness assessments
    • Define migration strategies, migration waves, and transition plans
    • Design metadata models, taxonomy frameworks, and information architecture for the target SharePoint Online environment
    • Support governance alignment including retention, lifecycle management, and access controls
    • Work with migration engineers to ensure proper content transformation and metadata mapping
    • Provide guidance on permissions restructuring and governance frameworks within SharePoint Online
    • Facilitate stakeholder discussions and workshops related to content organization, governance, and migration planning
    • Review and validate migration results to ensure content integrity and compliance
    • Prepare migration documentation, governance guidance, and validation reports

    Required Qualifications
    • Experience supporting enterprise content migration initiatives
    • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online
    • Experience working with EDRMS or enterprise document repositories
    • Strong background in information management, governance, and metadata architecture
    • Experience defining taxonomy, metadata mapping, and content classification frameworks
    • Experience working with migration tools or migration teams (ShareGate, Gimmal, Xillio, Tsunami or similar)
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
    • Understanding of permissions models and governance structures within Microsoft 365

    Compensation:
    Salary Range: $80.00 – $100.00 per hour
