Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an on-site Solaris System Administrator - Unix for our client in Ottawa, ON.

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Solaris System Administrator to support and maintain secure Unix environments. The role involves system patching, server configuration, performance tuning, and documentation to ensure reliable and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with operational support for the Solaris 11 environment
• Contribute to Solaris OS patching and remediation practices and cycles
• Assist with planning and execution Solaris patch management using best practices
• Assist with execution and planning of installation, configuration and tuning of Solaris servers using OVM.
• Provide input to and/or developing necessary documentation (build books, operation guides)
• Other activities and deliverables, as required

Required Qualifications:
• University degree or college diploma in computer science or a related field
• A minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrated work experience with:
o Solaris 11
o Unix System administration and hardware support
o Build automation (Scripting, Packaging, Ansible, OpsCenter)

Compensation
Salary Range: $87.00 – $125.00 per hour
