    Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Business Analyst for our federal government client in the National Capital region.

    The following responsibilities are associated with the “Statement of Work” but are not
    limited to:

    Scope

    The Business Analyst will perform the following tasks:

    •          Understand and document the desired outcome of a service, and to decide if the need can be fulfilled using an existing service offering or if a new or changed service must be created

    •          Work with clients and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, define and document business requirements as per standards

    •          Conduct analysis activities with potential internal and external stakeholders to identify appropriate existing or new solutions

    •          Analyze and document business requirements as specifications for Programmer Analysts and Database Administrators using query and reporting tools as needed

    •          Occasionally lead short-term teams or components of a project

    •          Prepare work plans and explain and provide technical information to new staff as required

    •          Investigate issues reported and enhancement requests

    •          Communicate issues and risks and contribute to communication plans

    •          Complete hands-on analysis of existing systems functions and data

    •          Identify and action process improvements

    •          Support change management activities through training and communication with internal clients


    Key Activities and Deliverables

    The following articulates the scope of activities to be performed by the Business Analyst. 

    •          Stakeholder Analysis

    •          Business Analysis Plan

    •          Current State Analysis

    •          Scope Statement Specification

    •          Functional Requirements Specification

    •          Information or Data Model Documentation

    •          Test Plans, Test Cases, or User Acceptance Test Plans

     
    Note that the proposed resource may not be solely responsible for the completion of these deliverables. The consultant will be expected to work collaboratively with staff to ensure the work is completed in a way that ensures maximum knowledge transfer.
