    Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a  Sr. SharePoint Developer for our Federal Government client.

    The following responsibilities are associated with the “Statement of Work” but are not limited to:

    Primary Responsibilities

    The Senior Microsoft SharePoint Developer, as part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Division, will be involved in supporting the Microsoft SharePoint upgrade from Microsoft SharePoint 2013 to Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and subsequently to Microsoft SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE). As well as the conversion of existing customizations that have been developed in Microsoft SharePoint 2013 into Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and then to Microsoft SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) to support business initiatives and customer experiences with our corporate website.

    The Senior Microsoft SharePoint Developer will work primarily with the Team Leader, Enabling Services and/or Project Manager and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Enabling Services.

    The Senior Microsoft SharePoint Developer will work full-time remote with the requirement for on-site to work to attend meeting(s) and/or work on specific issue(s) at Agricorp’s office. On-site work is required, at a minimum, one (1) day a month.

    Expected Goals and Objectives

    The main objectives of this project are to:

    •          Upgrade Agricorp.com from Microsoft SharePoint 2013 to Microsoft SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE)

    •          Migrate the Microsoft SQL Server database from Microsoft SQL Server 2012 to Microsoft SQL Server 2022.

    Deliverables

    The Senior Microsoft SharePoint Developer will use the client's methodology and related work product templates to complete the following deliverables:

    • Review existing Microsoft SharePoint application(s) and make recommendations on current strategy and two (2) step approach for the Microsoft SharePoint upgrade from Microsoft SharePoint 2013 to Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and then to Microsoft SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) and the conversion of existing customization(s) to the target upgraded environment

    • Provide guidance and make recommendations on using new features that are available in Microsoft SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) instead of using existing functionalities to improve customer experience

    • Actively participate in the design, development, integration testing and implementation of customizations on the Microsoft SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) platform

    • Actively participate and provide guidance in the backend of Microsoft SQL Server upgrade from Microsoft SQL Server 2012 to Microsoft SQL Sever 2022

    • Work on assigned project tasks along with designated internal resources in ITS Division and business partners

    • Perform complete unit and integration testing and deliver complete documentation during the system development life cycle (SDLC)

    • Transfer knowledge to internal resources for future support and maintenance of application(s)

    • Participate and provide guidance in addressing related Variance Reports (VRs) and/or production issues, as part of the production support team

     

    Skills and Abilities In addition to Section 3.3 Deliverables, the candidate must have the following skills and abilities:

    • B.Sc. or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics

    • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the development and implementation of Microsoft SharePoint 2013 or higher

    • Proven experience in similar Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft SQL Server upgrade initiatives

    • Proven experience in the development and implementation of Microsoft SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE)

    • Highly motivated with the ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment

    • Strong initiative with the ability to find ways to improve solutions, systems and processes in a timely manner

    • Proven communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders

    • Microsoft SharePoint Certification(s), an asset

    • Microsoft SQL Server Certification(s), an asset
