Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an UX/UI Designer Services - (Hybrid) for our Federal Government client.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Design & Collaboration:
• Collaborate with senior designers, developers, testers, writers, product owners on the Web Experience Team to create user-friendly and visually appealing digital interfaces.
• Hands on design of user experiences and interfaces, including wireframing, prototyping, and visual design, ensuring responsive web design.
• Produces development ready responsive designs inclusive of wireframes, prototypes and user flows, leading with mobile designs first.
• Work cross-functionally across teams to ensure design solutions align with user needs, business objectives and technical feasibility.
• Apply customer personas, journey maps, and interaction flows to guide the design process.
• Contribute to improving the design practice through design reviews and operational enhancements.
Tool Proficiency & Execution:
• Utilize Figma to design and iterate on digital experiences, ensuring consistency with client's design system.
• Produce pixel-perfect designs that adhere to brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
• Assist in conducting user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and optimize user experiences using Dovetail.
• Works in an agile/scrum environment, contributing to agile events.
Accessibility & Inclusivity:
• Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards such as WCAG, making digital experiences inclusive for all users.
• Support accessibility testing and remediation efforts as needed.
Learning & Development:
• Work closely with senior designers to develop skills and expand knowledge in user-centered design principles, interaction design, content design, and information architecture.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design.
Specific Project Requirements:
Support the evolution of the client's website, enhancing existing web components, pages, templates and overall experiences, while also supporting net new designs of web experience.

1) Understanding of web design and best practices in developing digital experiences for web channels
2) Understanding the importance of user flows across a website and within web pages
3) Up to date with modern practices in designing web experiences such as accessibility
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in UI/UX design services, preferably with a portfolio showcasing work on digital interfaces and experiences (Junior to Intermediate designer).
• Proficiency in Figma (required).
• Understanding of user-centered design principles, responsive design, and interaction design.
• Experience working with design systems and component libraries.
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating intuitive, visually appealing digital experiences.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a willingness to take feedback and learn from senior team members.
• Ability to work in a matrixed organization, collaborating with designers, business analysts, developers, testers and product owners.
Assets:
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and their application in design.
• Experience in an Agile (scrum, kanban) environment.
• Knowledge of web development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is an asset.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
• Experience in developing design prototypes.
• Experience in using analytics and data to design improved experiences.
• Experience having worked in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
