Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Project Leader (Level 2) for our Federal Government client.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
The Project Leader will:
- Specify system requirements and develop alternatives.
- Analyze and evaluate alternatives based on feasibility and cost/benefit considerations.
- Produce and obtain approval for overall and detailed plans.
- Direct and control system development activities within time and cost parameters.
- Evaluate proposed applications for feasibility.
- Design and test systems to meet objectives and client requirements.
- Meet with clients to discuss release schedules and requests.
- Monitor design, implementation, and operations start-up against goals and milestones.
- Provide briefings and status reports to management.
Deliverables
For each release, the Project Leader must produce:
- Impact Assessment Documents: Highlight release contents, impacted teams, level of effort, and notes.
- Work Status Updates: Weekly updates including issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Project Plan Documents: Draft and update project plans using Microsoft Project and Adobe PDF.
Qualifications and Experience:
Project Management Expertise:
- Proven experience in managing IT projects, particularly those involving the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases: Requirements Gathering, System Analysis, Development, Testing, and Deployment
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools such as Microsoft Project and Team Foundation Server
Technical Skills:
- Experience with the Cognos platform for business reporting and analytics
- Knowledge of data management and analytics, particularly in the context of Enterprise Data Management and Analytical Services (EDMAS)
- Understanding of financial analytics and integration hubs
Leadership and Communication:
- Ability to plan, direct, and control the activities of a system development team within scheduled time and cost parameters
- Strong communication skills to meet with clients, discuss release schedules, and provide briefings and status reports to management
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Capability to specify system requirements, develop system alternatives, and evaluate their feasibility and practicality
- Skills in analyzing and evaluating proposed computer applications for technical, operational, and economic feasibility

- Impact assessment documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
- Weekly work status updates in Microsoft Team Foundation Server
- Project plan documents in Microsoft Project and Adobe PD
