Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an IT Project Manager/Portfolio Manager for our client.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide strategic oversight and operational execution for Enterprise IT Portfolio Management, with a primary focus on the Cyber Security and Technology Program.
- Bring 7+ years of experience managing large-scale cyber security and infrastructure-related projects.
- Demonstrate proven expertise in both traditional Waterfall and Agile delivery models.
- Have hands-on experience as both a program manager and a Scrum Master, including facilitating the work of a Cyber Security Team.
- Navigate complex technical environments while ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and program objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Planning and Strategic Alignment
- Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure the Cyber Security and Technology Program meets its goals and aligns with enterprise priorities.
- Contribute to the IT portfolio roadmap with a focus on cyber security and infrastructure initiatives.
- Review proposed initiatives to ensure alignment with corporate objectives, resource availability, and value delivery.
- Support sponsors in prioritization exercises when required.
- Performance Monitoring and Analytics
- Update dashboards and reporting tools to monitor portfolio health, tracking metrics such as budget adherence, schedule performance, risk exposure, and benefit realization.
- Provide analysis of cyber security and infrastructure program data to identify trends, issues, and risks.
- Present status, insights, and recommendations at executive-level governance forums.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory
- Act as a liaison between Partner IT delivery teams, business units, finance, and enterprise planning to ensure a consistent understanding of portfolio priorities.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Partner project managers, Scrum Masters, and business leads on portfolio management practices, tools, and expectations.
- Foster a collaborative culture across business, technology, and delivery teams.
Risk and Change Management
- Monitor and assess reported risks, dependencies, and constraints at the portfolio level, with particular attention to cyber security and infrastructure challenges.
- Escalate issues to senior leadership as required.
- Support change management activities for each project, including stakeholder communications, training, and adoption strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years’ experience managing complex cyber security and infrastructure-related programs and projects.
- Proven track record in both Waterfall and Agile delivery models, with hands-on experience as both a program manager and a Scrum Master.
- Experience facilitating the work of a Cyber Security Team as a Scrum Master.
- Strong partnership management skills and the ability to work with external delivery partners.
- Strong analytical skills with experience creating status reports and portfolio health dashboards.
- Familiarity with portfolio management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Azure DevOps).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Advanced knowledge of cyber security governance, compliance, and infrastructure modernization best practices.
Assets
- Certification in portfolio or project management (e.g., PfMP, PMP) and/or Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe).
- Experience in a Crown corporation or public sector environment.
- Experience working in a financial organization.
