Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Senior Application Architect for our Federal Government client.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
General
• The Senior Application Architect is responsible for designing, developing, coding and overseeing
the implementation of enterprise-grade application solutions that align with business goals and
technology strategy with the client Microsoft stack using using .NET with C#, Azure services, SQL
Server, and Dynamics 365. This role works closely with business analysts, architects, and QA
teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions while ensuring appropriate
security, confidentiality, client regulations, information safeguarding practices and delivery of
confidential information is adhered to at all times during the course of work with the client.
Category Specific:
• Develop and maintain applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, and .NET Framework.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power
Platform.
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions,
Logic Apps, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into
technical specifications.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment activities using Azure DevOps.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows.
• Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document database content, structure,
and application sub-systems, and develop data dictionary.
• Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application sub[1]systems, to external systems and between new and existing systems.
• Define input/output sources, including detailed plan for technical design phase, and obtain
approval of the system proposal.
• Provide expertise and implementation support for user experience requirements and associated
design.
• Unit test the code prior to releasing it for integration testing.
• Monitor the need for architectural changes as the project progresses.
• Ensure functionalities have been implemented according to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and correct program errors by revising instructions, error handling and altering
the sequence of operations
• Coach, mentor and train the organization to perform any of the above
• Identify and document system specific standards relating to programming, documentation and
testing, covering program libraries, data dictionaries, naming conventions, etc.
Specialties could include but are not limited to:
• Proficiency in C#, .NET Core/Framework, ASP.NET MVC/Web API.
• Experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, etc.).
• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, Entity Framework, and LINQ.
• Experience integrating with Dynamics 365 or Power Platform is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Git, Azure DevOps).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Software knowledge in SharePoint Online, Azure Dev Ops, Cloud, PCI Compliance, Product
Lifecycle Management software, MS Stack.
• Knowledge of various software technologies such as: Active Directory Services, C++, HML, HTML,
JavaScript, MS SQL, .NET, ODBC, OLAP, CASE, PowerBI, SQL Server, TCP/IP, C#, Visual C++, XML,
developing in MS Dynamics, using X++ and MS Visual Studio.
• Knowledge/Experience with Agile/SCRUM SDLC methodologies.
• Knowledge of Cloud and networking in a hybrid environment
Deliverables may include:
• Provision of documentation as requested to perform the above noted responsibilities such as
diagrammatic plans, code, web pages, test instructions and reports.
Level:
• Senior: 7 years of experience in application development using Microsoft technologies.
• Intermediate: 3 years of experience in application development using Microsoft technologies.
