Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect (IT) for our Federal Government client.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
General
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining and maintaining the enterprise-wide architecture
strategy, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology capabilities. This role focuses
on leveraging business processes, Microsoft technologies, including Azure Cloud, Dynamics 365, BI
Power Platform, Fabric, Microsoft 365, and other technologies—to deliver scalable, secure, and
integrated solutions across the organization. It ensures security, data, information management, AI,
and Cloud best practices are followed. This role ensures that technology investments directly support
business outcomes.
Category Specific:
1. Enterprise Architecture Design & Strategy:
• Define and lead the overall architecture vision, strategy, and framework for the organization,
ensuring alignment with business objectives and goals.
• Architect enterprise-wide solutions across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments using
the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, Dynamics 365, .NET, Power Platform, SharePoint, etc.), and
other technologies.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise architecture roadmap that integrates
technology and business priorities while ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Define high-level architecture for complex systems and guide the team in implementation,
ensuring enterprise-grade solutions.
2. Technology Leadership & Governance:
• Provide leadership in the adoption of emerging technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem
(e.g., Azure AI, Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Fabric, etc), and other
technologies.
• Establish architecture governance frameworks, best practices, standards, and guidelines for the
design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and solutions.
• Lead architectural reviews and decision-making across projects to ensure the solutions meet
strategic goals, best practices, and compliance standards.
• Work with senior leadership to make informed decisions on technology choices, ensuring cost[1]effective, scalable, and future-proof solutions.
3. Cloud & Hybrid Architecture:
• Lead the design and migration of enterprise applications and workloads to Microsoft Azure,
ensuring that applications are optimized for cloud-native environments and high availability.
• Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Azure services such as Azure Functions, App
Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure DevOps, and Azure Active Directory.
• Define the cloud security architecture, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best
practices for data protection and privacy (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
4. Integration & Interoperability:
• Architect seamless integration across different platforms and business applications within the
Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Office 365), and other technologies.
• Design and implement API-based integration strategies using Azure API Management, Service
Bus, Logic Apps, and Power Automate.
• Lead efforts to integrate legacy systems with modern cloud and on-premises solutions, ensuring
interoperability and data consistency.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Work closely with business leaders, product owners, and IT teams to understand business
needs, gather requirements, and deliver strategic architecture solutions.
• Partner with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure alignment in the
delivery of architecture solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical
stakeholders and leadership.
6. Performance, Scalability, & Security:
• Architect for high performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring systems can handle
increasing data and traffic loads efficiently.
• Establish security frameworks for the enterprise architecture, ensuring the solutions are resilient
to security threats and comply with relevant standards.
• Conduct regular architecture reviews, audits, and assessments to identify potential risks and
performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure having Backup, Recovery and Ransomware solutions and processes across the
organization for every system’s solution.
7. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
• Stay at the forefront of Microsoft and cloud technologies, exploring new tools and solutions in
the Azure cloud, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, AI/ML, automation, and other cutting-edge
technologies.
• Recommend and drive improvements in business processes by leveraging technology to
streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve performance.
• Foster a culture of innovation, ensuring the organization adopts emerging technologies in a
controlled and strategic manner.
8. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
• Create and maintain detailed architecture documentation, including solution diagrams,
roadmaps, integration models, and technology stack choices.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the organization, ensuring that all stakeholders
understand architectural strategies, goals, and benefits.
Specialties could include but are not limited to:
• Strong expertise in system architecture and design, covering applications, infrastructure,
integration, and data.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Expertise in enterprise integration patterns, microservices, API management, AI, and
automation.
• Solid understanding of data management, data governance, and business intelligence.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture, including identity management, encryption, access
control, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies and best practices
Soft Skills:
• Exceptional leadership and strategic thinking, with the ability to influence senior leadership and
teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non[1]technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive creative, effective solutions for complex

objectives.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and relationship-building across teams.
Deliverables may include:
• Provision of documentation as requested to perform the above noted responsibilities such as
diagrammatic plans, code, web pages, test instructions and reports.
Level:
• Senior: 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or IT strategy
roles
