Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an Intermediate Application Developer for our Federal Government client.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
General
• Responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using Microsoft
technologies such as .NET, Azure, and SQL Server. The role requires a solid foundation in
software engineering who is ready to take on more complex projects and contribute to solution
design while ensuring appropriate security, confidentiality, client regulations, information
safeguarding practices and delivery of confidential information is adhered to at all times during
the course of work with the client.
Category Specific:
• Develop, test, and maintain applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, and .NET Framework.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with Microsoft services and third-party systems.
• Work with Azure services such as App Services, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Key Vault.
• Collaborate with business analysts and senior developers to understand requirements and
deliver solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment processes using Azure DevOps.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Analyze functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows.
• Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document database content, structure,
and application sub-systems, and develop data dictionary.
• Select and use the best available development tools to be used for the project.
• Develop code based upon design and requirements documents.
• Unit test the code prior to releasing it for integration testing.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of programs by preparing sample data, test plans, and testing
them by means of system acceptance test runs made by operating personnel
• Ensure functionalities have been implemented according to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and correct program errors by revising instructions or altering the sequence of
operations
• Support the planning and conduct of User acceptance testing.
• Coach, mentor and train the organization to perform any of the above
• Identify and document system specific standards relating to programming, documentation and
testing, covering program libraries, data dictionaries, naming conventions, etc.
Specialties could include but are not limited to:
• 3+ years of experience in application development using Microsoft technologies.
• Proficiency in C#, .NET Core/Framework, ASP.NET MVC/Web API.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Entity Framework.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and DevOps pipelines.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Software knowledge in SharePoint Online, Product Lifecycle Management software.
• Knowledge of various software technologies such as: Active Directory Services, C++, HML, HTML,
JavaScript, MS SQL, .NET, ODBC, OLAP, CASE, PowerBI, SQL Server, TCP/IP, C#, Visual C++, XML,
developing in MS Dynamics, using X++ and MS Visual Studio.
• Knowledge/Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
• Knowledge of Cloud and networking in a hybrid environment
Deliverables may include:
• Provision of documentation as requested to perform the above noted responsibilities such as
diagrammatic plans, code, web pages, test instructions and reports.
Level:
Intermediate: 3+ years of experience in application development using Microsoft technologies.
