Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Senior Infrastructure Solutions Architect (IT) for our Federal Government client.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
General:
• Ensure appropriate security, confidentiality, client regulations, information safeguarding practices
and delivery of confidential information is adhered to at all times during the course of work with
the client.
Category Specific
• Analyze, design and implement architectural capabilities and requirements, which may include
development of new or redesigned capabilities and recommend areas for improved capability,
integration, high levels of data quality and/or availability.
• Develop and document detailed statements of requirements.
• Evaluate existing procedures and methods.
• Develop capacity planning, backup and restore procedures for storage capabilities.
• Develop or assist in development of data disaster recovery plans and or cyber recovery plans, as
they relate to server, storage and networking capabilities and continuity to be able to recover from
a cyber or physical disaster event.
• Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent and seamless
server, storage and networking capabilities and continuity.
• Identify policies and requirements that drive out a particular solution.
• Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet business problems.
• Ensure the integration of all aspects of technology solutions.
• Perform architectural modeling to ensure consistency of the design with existing work.
• Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application
subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems.
• Prototype potential solutions, provide trade-off information and suggest recommended courses of
action.
• Evaluate hardware and software relative to their ability to support specified requirements and, by
determining potential and actual bottlenecks, improve system performance through
recommended hardware or software changes.
• Monitor industry trends to ensure that solutions fit with government and industry directions for
technology.
• Provide information, direction and support for emerging technologies for on-premise and cloud
solutions.
• Perform impact analysis of technology changes.
• Provide support to applications and/or technical support teams in the proper application of
existing infrastructure and cloud solutions.
• Perform cost/benefit analysis of implementing new processes and solutions.
• Provide advice in defining new requirements and opportunities for applying efficient and effective
solutions; identify and provide preliminary costs of potential options.
• Coach, mentor and train the organization to perform any of the above
Key Requirements:
Specialties could include but are not limited to:
• Software knowledge in MS Exchange Online, M365, On premise data centre, hybrid and cloud
technologies, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Advanced PowerShell, Dynamics 365 ERP, Azure DevOps,
Product Lifecycle Management software, MS Stack, Windows Server, Active Directory, InTune,
AutoPilot, PowerApps, Azure AD, Citrix / VDI.
• Knowledge of Cloud and networking, including supporting a hybrid environment
Further Specialties relative to Virtualization, may include but are not limited to:
• VMware vSphere, vRealize Suite, vCenter, NSX
Further Specialties relative to Networking, may include but are not limited to:
• MS Teams UCS, Software Defined Networking Network Design, Network Firewall design and
maintenance, Solarwinds NPM
Further Specialties relative to Storage, may include but are not limited to:
• EMC Unity, EMC Data Domain, EMC RecoverPoint Appliance, Veeam Backup & Recovery, Dell
Data Protection Suite
Deliverables may include:
• Provision of documentation as requested to perform the above noted responsibilities such as
architectures, strategies, frameworks, requirements, prototype solutions, business processes,
recovery plans, policies and procedures, cost benefit and/or impact analyses.
Level:
Senior: Possesses a minimum of ten (10) years’ professional work experience in the field.
