On the occasion of its 15th annual fundraiser, the Investment Fund and Athletic Development Association (FIDA) awarded 31 scholarships to young students - Quebec athletes who demonstrate academic achievement, athletic potential and their personality.
The event was held under the honorary presidency of Mr. Éric Lapointe, former Montreal Alouettes player and president of the Alouettes Alumni Association. In addition, some 350 participants had the opportunity to attend a lecture by Jean-Luc Brassard who represented Canada at the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville, Lillehammer in 1994, where he was crowned Olympic champion in moguls, and Nagano in 1998.
Since its establishment, FIDA has awarded more than 260 scholarships totaling $ 475,000 to 74 talented student-athletes. "The annual benefit evening of FIDA is an invaluable source of funding for student-athletes," said Éric Lapointe. "It allows the offer of scholarships to promising young people who may not have the means to develop their potential. On behalf of FIDA, I thank all those who helped make this event a success”. Groupe Maplesoft is proud to support this cause to encourage students and their excellence in athletics.
